Message
From jazz and rock back to choir and gospel.

A few months after Eye II Eye winded up its business I ended up in a christian rock/funk band in Langesund/Porsgrunn.

Along with some pretty capable mucisians within the gospel and choir activity in Porsgrunn, we established a band called "Message".

Besides beeing a backing band for the local choir, we also operated as a separate band unit playing our own music.
........A respectful tribute to Børre, Rene og Kjell !!

(Børre was, by the way, an extremely capable guitar player, who made my flesh crawl several times playing Gary Moore with his eyes shut......incredible talent !

During this period of time I played a lot of funk and gospel, and the climax was a magnificent consert in a crowded "Ibsenhus" in Skien.
For that consert I used two sets of digital drums (D-Drums II /  Simmons) and and the sound from this equipment was iencredible......(at that time)......a drum solo couldn't be avoided - lucky me.......!

During the summer holidays Børre and I  had a great experience playing a gig with "the norwegian king of the piano blues" Reidar Larsen at Wrightegaarden in Langesund.

The next autumn we tried to continue as an independent band rehearsing in Oslo, but commuting Langesund - Oslo became to strenous to keep the band together.

After returning to Moss I contacted an old acquaintance form the "Ten-Sing period" ; Finn Børge Stenbeck (a well known face from NRK news .......), and we formed a band closely attached to the whitsun congregation in Fredrikstad.
We kept it going for a short while until
It fizzled out.....
