Despite the fact that I seriously aimed at becoming a professional musician, I turned my head around and went for an education within economics and computer technilogy.
At the age of 27 it felt "a bit late" to study for 7 years towards a most insecure economical future as the music business seems to be.
Nevertheless, I set apart a hole year of music and daily practising, preparing for an entrance to the Conservatory of Music In Oslo.
At least, during that period of time I acquired the most basic knowledge of music within percussion, piano, song and elementary music theory.....and "playing" the vibraphone was really cool......

Plenty of hours were put out in front of the mirror to achieve the right feeling and movements for a proper technical handling of the drumsticks. According to my teacher, a percussionist at "The Norwegian Opera" , this was a necessity......!
I also had a few lessons from an extremely good marimba-player by the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra until the mallets were abandoned.
In company with my piano teacher, who by the way was an educated jazz pianist, I also practised severe ensemble playing the drums in a local jazz band.
Inspired by those who really can improvise, it's ok to chop at some keys to oneself (without comparison): Pianogroove.mp3
