When a rock band from Råde badly needed a drummer, I had my sticks ready. Eye II Eye was in the melting pot........
My savings was then invested in a "new" second hand drumset (make "Wooding") and more practice was necessary.
At first we called ourselves "Lipstick" (tough guys - and the "chicks" dropped like flies - I think....)
Per Christian Olsen kept the "rheumatoid arthritis" :)" at a distance, by running his fingers at the keyboard. In addition his "nuts" had a tight squeeze due to our wish for backing vocals like Bee Gees.
Our bass player, Jon Lundeby, deliberately put on a recumbent attitude, while manipulating the maternal instinct among every girls around.
Playing at his "Flying Wing" guitar, Lars Helland was the natural born leader.
He wrote most of the material, was the lead singer, and filled the character as a front figure superb feeling quite confident about it..... make no mistake.
I myself, (Drumhead), was pretty busy arguing with details and technique to make everything perfect, and I made sure the beat was right (and tight).
We produced our own songs, mostly written by Lars (the poetical son of a priest), and he produced new material continuously. (By using a pencil of course - we only had 9-pins "needle printers" those days....)
After stuffing the windows properly, We did all our musical "exercise" in a cellar owned by Johns parents, aguing and discussing a lot. I think his parents missed a great deal of news broadcast during those years - Thank you for your patience.

We had a few gigs around - not too crowded every time, and presenting your own material became a difficult tast once in a while.
Anyway, we enjoyed our music.
An early demo of Do You Really Know Who You Are (Mp3, 4 MB) recorded in a small studio during the 80th - No Charge !
At a youth club in Fredrikstad, we signed our first autographs - "big step"....
In 1986 we decided to invest som money to make a single record.
During a week-end at Studio Nova in Spydeberg, listening to music all the time, eating hamburgers to every single meal (except for Per who's hamburger became a meatball), the EP "Being Alive" was recorded.

The record was produced in a limited edition (500 ex), and we tried to sell it to every human being in our local neighbourhood.
Along with a few local radio stations we also persuaded NRK to broadcast our "hit" , yet due to intense marketing by the band.
Even though we put all our effort, enthusiasm....and savings..... into this project along with som other recordings as well, everything turned out differently than we hoped for. But....... we got some positive feedback from CBS which gave us enough moral support to keep on moving......
Unfortunately, nothing more happened, and we boat the oars until I myself and Lars reunited in 1997.
In he meantime I made a strong bid for developing myself as a musician and a drummer.
