Playing congas gave me an opportunity of taking part as a percussionist in the local big band; Con Brio

During tle late 70's and the early 80's, Con Brio became the most important musical inspiration to a young and energetic percussionist.

The band played all kinds of music, from "Vikingarna" (typical Swedish dance music) to "Santana".

By doing so the musical range was quite wide, and this has of course been a great influence to me as a drummer.

Thanks to Terje Maarud who tought me a great deal of music.

During this period I also spent a few hours in a studio when we were making a cassette. Playing along with a click-track for the first time was a useful experience.

Some other nice memories that comes to mind, includes a brief stand-in as a drummer for the norwegian band "Vaselina Bilopphøggers" at the SAS-hotel during the Ski World Championship in 82.

I also were able to test myself as a circus drummer when we made an appearance at a gala performance at the Circus Arnardo.
Originally we were supposed to be the backing band for the norwegian artist "Dag Spantel", but they also needed som music to go along with the stunts of a clowns performance.
(By the way.......Its pretty hard to follow a clowns movements and keep a steady rhythm for the band, simultaneously.)

During a gig at  Beito Hotel my capability for playing jazz was put to the test, when a really good jazz pianist from New Orleans joined us for a jam.

beyond that......a lot of good looking girls.....
